New to fishing what are these?

#1 Post by MBuckley87 »

Me and very lil sister are out fishing every Saturday for a few weeks now cheap rods using three hook flappers on size 2 hooks and we managed to bring in 17 of these things in 4hrs was wondering what they are? And also I bought 20 three hook flappers with size 2/0 hooks are these too big for pier fishing? Looking to catch anything at all.

Their whiting and there's plenty about. Very tasty if you get any big enough!! Try using smaller hooks though. Size 2 or 4's will help you pick up more species. Although I've had smaller whiting on a 4/0!!

I have size 2 hooks also they came up on them. What would be considered a good size for these? Thanks for your response and help.

Anything around 35cm and you've got small fillets. If you can pick up a few that size a session you're laughing.
