do you need to rinse off tripods?

Just wondering do you need to rinse these off? I normally rinse off the rod and reel anyhow but won't bother with this if not necessary.One less thing to do!

i normally just rinse off the sand with the garden hose.i also oil up the joints a bit too and leave to dry

In more than 50 years fishing I have never washed a Tripod, and I'm not going to start now :shock: . But if you've nothing better to be doing it would do it no harm.
