killybegs - any fishing

#1 Post by robert hesketh »

I'm looking some advice regards shore fishing in the killybegs area, I am heading up in that direction for a few days next week and was wondering if the pier can still be fished or where the best place would be.

Thanks Robert

thanks for getting back to me, was thinking of macs and have been told that its closer to Donegal town where I'm going. I really fancy some fishing anywhere close and I the beaches will be no good so you got any ideas?

Take a trip out to St John's Point one day. Should be a few mackerel and pollock about. Float fish close in and you might hook a wrasse or two. Best in midweek.....not so crowded!
Species 2011: Mackerel, Sandeel, Cod, Coley, Pouting, Ling, Pollock, Cuckoo Wrasse, Red Gurnard, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Poor Cod.

Hi thanks for all the help.
I went to St Johns Point for a while on 16th tried prawn and mack strips no joy even tried feathers and same result. Did have a great time even if no fish.
