the highs and lows of tope fishing part two

#1 Post by bubba gump shrimp »

People:me and my dad

Duration:7pm till 9:30pm

Tide:

Weather:very nice

Bait:mackeral

Rigs:pullys

Results:one 49lb tope a new pb

After forest catching the tope pup i went out in search of the mum that bent his hook straight. I started my day celebrating my birthday and making a few rigs for the fishing trip. When we were driving to the spot it started to rain and i was not feeling very confident about the trip. When we arrived the clouds parted and the sun came out . Aftrr cast my new greys triplex out i waded out about 20 yards and my dad came with me to take a few photos. I heard a crash and when i looked around my triplex was skimming across the water towards me i droped the rod i had and grabbed the greys and hit into the fish. The fish bolted and nothing i could do would stop it all of a sudden the line went slack it had spat the hook unlike forests who bent his hook straight i was gutted but i only had to wait 10 mins and my 12ft fox carp rod and bait runner bent double after a battle lasting 30mins i handed the rod to my dad and i tailed her in with my hart pumping and my arms shaking i weighed her the scales which are cert approved where reading just over 50,10 oz so i took of a pound for my sling and returned my biggest tope yet. I am writing this post with my phone so i hope i can upload the photo if not i will at a later date
