You could try dollymount/north wall when there's a bit of surf running.
It ain't easy but it sure is simple!

A barman at 'The Bloody Stream' in Howth says he catches flatfish on the beach behind the pub on an incoming tide. I think he uses spoons - the tide will come up pretty fast.

Any of the north dublin beaches will throw up a few flounder - although numbers have never been great for me, there are the odd few bigger fish around, with the odd suprise plaice and turbot.
Whiterock near Killiney is a good low water mark for flounder, fish 2 hours either side of LW, casting 5-40 yards out.
A few flounder along the Shankill stretch of coast also.
Sandymount down to Monkstown should throw up a few flounder, I've fished along by Booterstown the odd time from low water up for a few hours and caught fish. Its a long walk out to the tide line though and the tide races in, so its a 1 rod/tripod/bait & rigs in a bucket job.

Hi all,
i am new in Greystones as well, where exactly is the Whiterock?
Trying to catch some flatties as well, had last Saturday a nice one in Greystones harbour, but even small.
Thanks for the hints.

anywhere from greystones south beach which is to the right of the harbour under the tunnels onwards further into wicklow should throw up loads of flats at this time of year... last year my friend landed a 2.5lb plaice in killoughter on ragworm
