araldite glue is the best job for it its slow drying so will take 24 hours to fully cure you will need to tape it in position overnight. personally i would get rid of the rolls of tape that come with it they get very soggy in wet weather.

get a pair of coasters then you arnt stuck with the reel in one position,or a sliding reel seat,if you fix it in the wrong spot it will be fun trying to hack through the epoxy glue

Sounds like you have the wrong diameter reel seat for the rod. you could try and get a smaller one or just get coasters. i dont use reel seats anymore always had problems with them.

thanks lads

i will have to cut it off with a small saw so as it will not slide off the butt it is 2 tight near end
maybe get one of the abu ones that tight in down when you squeeze on the reel
or the coaster like e said
bit of a fu8k up for a good rod

cheers

i'd stick with the fuji seat that you have with it martin lad much more dependable coasters are crap especially with a fixed spool reel and them abu griplok seats are s***e altogether ive had a few jam up on me so stopped using them. its really not that big a deal to glue the seat just build up the blank a little with good quality tape before gluing. its a much sturdier job and if you do need to cut it off in time the tape cushions the blank fron the hack saw.

I have reel seats on all my rods and haveused tape to build up the blank then wedge the reel seat over the tape...it never budges and your seat isnt then glued to the rod either in case it breaks or you need to change it.

Hi I overcame similar problems by building up diamater of rod by using heavy duty heat shrink, becomes good tight fit and also gives excellant grip. You can get this heavy duty heat shrink in most electrcian wholesale/trade outlets.
I agree coasters/penn talon reel clamps excellant for multipliers but I find reel seats better for fixed spool reels
