the greys greyflex s(really top class rod at vry low price)

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

the greys greyflex s(really top class rod at vry low price)

#1 Post by sea serpant »

I went into henry's tackle shop last week and told them i was looking for a match type rod to cast two and three bait rigs that is light and shows up bites... I normally fish with century tip tornados and for this type of fishin i find them at the top of the food chain but my ones are a bit battered and i was really lookin for an impulse buy....When Henry pointed me towards a rod that he had on sale for jus over a hundred euro i laughed, now I wasnt planning on spending huge money but a hundred euro's... I was expecting somethin really bad but henry assured me that its a lovely match rod and its made by greys which are a good company.I had a greys apollo at home and that was a good rod so i bought this 100euro rod and went out fishing with it... I took it out of the rod bag on the beach and it really did look the part slim light with a great dark wine look, ok so it looked cool but could it fish?.. I hooked it up with a 2 hook flapper and had a few casts and I honestly could not get it into my head how well it performed, I mean if no one told you yhe price you would guess it costs twice what it does. The tip is a slight bit soft but there is plenty of power in the butt and I was casting 5oz leads over 100yrds with ease.Couldnt be happier with my purchase ill be using it all the time now and I highly reccomend this rod to beginners and proffessionals alike especially if ya on a budget...!!! :D THE ROD RETAILS FOR ABOUT 200 EURO BUT HENRYS HAS IT ON SALE FOR 109.99 01-8555216
