Top 5 Internet purchases

#1 Post by leec »

Lads if/when ordering fishing gear over Internet what would your top 5/10 purchases be?

Mine -

1, F1 Ultima 15lb mono or Diawa Tourno Mono
2, Size 3/0 Aberdeen hooks
3, Greased Weasel 50 or 60lb Shockleader
4, A mixture of swivels
5, Breakaway Clipdown bait clips

Not in any particular order!
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

When I do use internet sites which is few and far between I do my homework and look at about 5....Spotted Dog, Glasgow Angling, Tackledirect and Gerrys....all vary in prices depending on what your looking for but to be honest there nothing better than going down your local shop and getting a few bits and having a chat.

Thanks for reply,i appreciate what your saying because i like the bit of natter too etc when down at the local shops but when you dont have a workable income wage funds are VERY restricted and to enjoy the pleasure of fishing i have to persue websites for better deals because of this :(

Bought some mustad hooks from a tackle shop a few weeks ago,i think around 2.50 euro for 10,went to another last week and bought the same size but 30 odd for around 3.50 euro.Later when making traces i looked at the packaging labels more closely and they both looked identicle but then noticed that the better deal buy had MADE IN CHINA on them where as the other box hadnt. Was wondering where mustad hooks are manufactured and are the "CHINESE" ones immitations.....

1. Sunridge SAS MK 2 - first fishing purchase back in 2006. they were selling for £90 in the shop I got mine of Ebay for £50
to the Door.. I still use it even though it stinks!

2. Reels From Ebay - From 7ht mags to Fox Stratos for about 50-75% off the retail price.

3. Zziplex HSM (UKHooks) - Personalised to myself

4. Penn Affinity Twin Tips 14ft & 15ft (Mainwarings) - Brilliant rods,

5. Rig bits and pieces from Ebay and a fraction of the cost in the shops
