What Rig?
Just wondering if anyone could let me know what the best type of rig to use on the beach is for covering all possibilities, ive been useing a double paternoster? Im targeting anything, fishing the louth/meath coast with little success over the last month, have been having flatties in close on a flattie rig but nothing at distance. Still a beginner so any advice would be great lads thanks.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Re: What Rig?
u will always get a few flatties in close to the surf but if ur goin for out deeper why not try a well bait pulley rig.there excellent for lond distance casting because u need to have them clipped before casting and the release with the impact when hitting the water or bottom.or else try a flapper rig.u will never go wrong on a beach with a flapper or pulley rig.they are good all rounders

Re: What Rig?
a 2 hook clipped loop rig with 1/0 aberdeens i find is the best allround rig for the east coast while a pulley rig with 2/0 - 3/0 hooks works best over rough ground and rock marks....

Re: What Rig?
Hi mate if your fishing the meath louth coast a 3 hook flapper is all you need, Its all shallow beaches so distance doesn't matter stick to size 2 hooks I've had plenty of bass on them and never a problem, Try making your rigs longer or shorter and experiment...
