Re: CHANGING FROM A FIXED SPOOL TO A MULTIPLIER
The new Akios multiplier is going to be the reel to have, made with top quality material and built to last, they are getting great reviews in the Uk and with a very reasonable price tag I'm not supprised.
Check them out here.

Re: CHANGING FROM A FIXED SPOOL TO A MULTIPLIER
i think your mad ,for rough ground a big fixed spool will get your gear up and out of snags twice as quick as a multi ,you will also find it wont add more than a few yards to your cast ,i use both but would always go for a big fs for rough stuff
those reels look like an abu
they even copied the new look star drag (i think the old style looked better
)still if they cast well and last good luck to em
as paul said 525 for rough stuff its prob unbreakable
try to get a second hand one or you could get one of these

Re: CHANGING FROM A FIXED SPOOL TO A MULTIPLIER
You are correct there, these ‘new’ Akios reels appear to be rebadged Omoto reels, Omoto used to be an OEM supplier to ABU, the cheaper made in Taiwan ABU's were made by Omoto.roger de dodger wrote:...those reels look like an abu...
