Re: Kerry trip
anywhere along the dingle peninsula is perfect starting point.. there you have both surf beaches for bass and flatties (inch strand, ballyheige etc..) and deep water rough ground marks for pollock, wrasse, ray, conger etc...(dingle). fish the surf beaches on a flood with lugworm while rough ground marks fish well with sandeel or fresh mackrel.. the fenit side of tralee bay opposite to the dingle peninsula offers excellent ray fishing for thornies, blondes and even stingray... lugworm can be dug at the windmill on the left hand side of tralee bay or at the back of the oyster tavern pub while landers leisure lines at the limerick entrance of tralee will supply all tackle and frozen bait needed..... hope this helps

Re: Kerry trip
i dont mean to be a party pooper, but unless the fishing around fenit has improved dramatically in the last few years, all you will be is hopeful rather than expectant, this area used to fish well from the tankard and oyster and from the pier but has gradually worsened. i dont think you can fish the pier head anymore(commons, stingray, thornback, undulate, conger all taken here) so just the causeway for mackerel really. good mullet fishing in mornings can be had but again you need to be near the boats near the pier head which is now shut? if you are stayin in dingle then fish below the lighthouse into the channel for good ray fishing( have had them to 12 1/2 pound), however, when ive fished there its either a fish a cast or nothing which is the beauty of fishin!!! conger in dingle harbour again are hit and miss but yu know there about. any beach with a creamy surf runnin can produce bass(night best). for fresh mackerel, its over the connor to brandon pier. for rock fishin basically all round dingle has rock marks, any wee headlands between trabeg and dingle are worth a look for pollock n wrasse, cheers good luck

Re: Kerry trip
For Bass try Inch beach. Fish from low tide using lug and crab you should get a couple of bass right in front of the car park. For Mixed species use big sandeels on fenit pier. Cast out towards the lighthouse a couple of hours before high water. Chance of a Stinger, Undulate ray, Thornback, Bass. Other tactics here can see decent mullet and gars in the marina itself and fishing towards Tralee town can see flounder dabs and even plaice. Fresh mac and lug is also good here!!

Re: Kerry trip
I am gonna be staying around dingle from the 22nd of sept for a few days with a mate and we are looking to get out fishing most days, we both experienced anglers who fish regularlly in and around Cornwall .We are hoping to try some spinning for bass and pollack and also to fish some rock marks for ray and the beaches for bass Any advice on where to fish, and where to dig/buy bait during our time over there would be very helpfull. Thanks

Best place still to dig lug would be the maherees its not that long a drive if you go over the conor pass. if its calm try the beachs on brandon bay for ray at night with mackeral or sandeel.
dingle harbour was supposed to be good for ray just under the lighthouse.
for rock fishing and i have not fished it before but it has to have some potential, ballydavid there is a pier and to the right of that there is a rocky area you can walk along the coastline there as the dingle way walking trail is there there is another smaller pier on that raod as well. Also there are rock marks near brandon creek check out the spot guide on the site.
I have fished off Brandon point on a small rented boat from Brandon pier too which was good.
