It is with great sadness that I tell you of the death today of Stuart (Stuarty) Langridge.
Stuarty was the Secretary of Carrick Beach and Rockers SAC since it's formation and will be missed by all.

I fished beside him only last week in the Jimmy Smith on Benone and he was real proud in telling me his girlfriend had just caught a 51cm mullet and how jammy she was and he'll naver hear the the end of it. A great loss to his family and his friends RIP.

Re: Sadness
Indeed, Stuarty will be sorely missed, he was a good friend of mine, having known him since my days as a junior.
He worked tirelessly for CBARSAC over the years , always producing a cracking prize table eat their open and was always behindfudraising inititives.
Many a time I had problems getting bait for a competition or an outing, and even if he had to go out in darkness or freezing, miserable conditions, Stuarty pulled me out of a hole, normally with more bait than i even required!
During his time as Ulster Youth officer I helped him out where i could and know inside out his drive for the sport and determination to bring juniors on, driving them from one end of the country to the other, running fundraising events to cover their costs, you name it, he tried it!
Well known by all who would have competed against him, whether it be club, open , interprovincials, master anglers, he loved the sport, continuing to fish on even through his illness.
Last time i seen Stuarty, we were socialising 2 saturday nights ago, just after the Jimmy Smith prizegiving, he was on top form with a smile on his face, having fun after a days fishing, proud as punch for someone else catching fish as Paul has already said. Thats the way I'll remember Stuarty.
Rest In Peace mate.

Indeed it is a big loss to fishing and i will miss you big Stuarty.
I was fishing with him back in 1996 when i was only 15. In my first year he help me win the Maurice Dalton Trophy (Irish Open Champion) and lots of other Trophys. I lived couple doors up from him when i was a kid and had lots of fun trips with him.

Re: Sadness
Details of Stuart's funeral will be in the Belfast Telegraph on Thursday night.
The funeral is on Friday.
If you have an IFSA Green Blazer it would be appreciated if you would wear it
