Waterfoot Beach 01/08/09

#1 Post by boyler »

People:Shannon and Myself

Duration:4pm to 8:30pm

Tide:HT @ 7:30pm

Weather:Rain and Gale force wind

Bait:Rag,Sandeels,mack

Rigs:2 Hook clip down

Results:2 Flounder

Report:Decided on a spur of the moment session and Shannon wanted to go to Waterfoot as i was up there last week and caught a nice sized Grey gurnard of the pier, while i was there last week i met Al,Jordan,Windy and his kids who where also fishing of the pier,Nice to meet you lads top blokes and thanks for the rag windy  .Anyways we arrived at 4pm to find that the wind was at gale force and it was a struggle to even get set up,but after about 15 mins or so both rods were in the water. The fishing was slow to start with then after about an hour Shannon got a little knock on her rod so i called to her as she was up the beach digging for buried treasure  when she finally did strike the fish was still there..fish on which resuted in 2 small Flounder so she was well chuffed as she has never caught Flounder before and it was a new species for us this year :)Unfortunately 1 Flounder didn't survive as he had gulped the hook right down them little buggers can swollow, but the other was safely returned. After that the rain started whiched resulted in some heavy rain and the fishing just died off completly not even a nibble so about 8pm we decided to pack up and hit the chippy,We drove round to the pier to eat our food and there was about 8 guys fishing of the pier with 1 of them getting 1 Flounder,So all in all we didn't do to bad or should i say Shannon didn't do to bad(again).

Thanks Thorniefish,Waterfoot is a cracking spot but the pier can get a bit overcrowded at times hence why i opted for the beach.
