Wexford Bass 22 July 2009

#1 Post by Danny M. »

People:Baz Pat and Myself

Duration:2 hours

Tide:New Moon 8)

Weather:warm, Fresh s/w breeze

Bait: Hard and Soft Plastics

Results: 2 Bass

Report:
The Blight had struck yesterday so we couldnt make it to chase a few Bass  , so we decided to go for them this evening. Long and the short of it the Blight struck again !! and Baz went out without me..........for me to follow when the Blight lifted!
Anyway followed Baz down with Pat, arrived on location to be greeted with a big smile from Baz, first cast on the Tide Minnow resulted in a fine Bass of around 6lb, he had no camera so the picture is on his fone, but its a fine healthy fish. Said it gave a great fight, thrashing and kiting etc....the lad is happy :D :D Also another angler there had a Bass to around 3lb before we arrived.
All buzzed up we set about launching the lures out covering all he angles..surface, sub surface, divers, soft plastics....etc.
Nothing happened until it got dark, I had the feed shallow on, had just started my retrieve when I felt a knock, then nothing for about 10 turns of the reel.........Bang rod lunged over drag paid out a bit of line...fish on :P
He dived initially and swam steadily with the tide, I had to follow him up the beach, when I got him in close and he went bananas thrashing about, thought I was going to lose him for a minute :!: finially got him in took a few pics and sent him on his way again. He took the middle treble on the lure.
No other action apart from that. My camera is playing up, got a bit wet  so pics arnt great.

Until next time 8)
