Dawn Hound

#1 Post by Danny M. »

People: Baz and Myself

Duration:03:30am-05:30am

Tide: Rising

Weather: Great

Bait:Frozen Crab

Rigs:3/0 Pulleys

Results: 1 Starry Smooth Hound

Report:

My alarm went off at 02:30am this morning signaling assault time on the Hounds!
Got to our chosen location to catch the last of the rise and sent our big crab baits seawards in search of the stream lined rockets.

My bait wasnt in the water 5 minutes when a little rocket took interest in it, and I had my 1st Hound on the beach. Expectations went through the roof at this stage with me proclaiming our target was 20 Hounds  for the morning session.

Baz brought a 15g-40g lure rod loaded with a 1 oz running ledger baited with crab, his mission was to hook and play a Hound on it :P . But that didnt go according to plan either, ( its gonna be some craic when he hooks one on it !!!!)

Unfortunatly we must of missed the pack swimming through and neither of us had a bite until we left, we called it a day at 05:30am. No point flogging a dead horse when there not there 8) Time to head back home to make the breakfast for the children :D

Lovely sunrise though this morning and plenty of Trout leaping out of the water too.

Heres some pics: (excuse the lack of fish  )
