I've been using this for a couple of months and find it very good.
My two cents anyway

Re: best surf reel mono for clean beaches
you can get tapered shockleader for carp fishing that goes from 30lb to 10 lb ,15lb to 40lb,16lb to 50lb and 18lb to 60 or 70 lb ,if you dont like a leader knot or weed is a headache it can make things more user freindly ,smaller tip rings can be a nightmare on some rods, the cost isnt bad when you add up the cost of lost tackle if you are suffering from crackoff,s alot ,
best mono for clean beaches is BRAID

Re: best surf reel mono for clean beaches
years ago i got a bulk spool (3600yrds) of zebco rhino line which was excellent allround. about 15.6kg but with a very low diameter (at the time of purchase) needed a shackleader for weights above 3oz. ran out last year and now i am using teklon gold - a superior line but costly.

Re: best surf reel mono for clean beaches
I just re spooled my reels with Ultima F1 after reading some of the comments here, I have say its a very nice line to use. Its much thinner and more supple than the rubbish I was using before, knots well too.

I don't think that it will be much help to you because I actually got it from Veals, I was getting a couple of bits and pieces so I just tagged it onto the order.theshoreking wrote:Where did you get it? Re: best surf reel mono for clean beaches
saw it for 7.50stg in Torbay Angling in the UK, their advert is in TSF. About 8.99 on eBay.
The 15lb in Black or Titanium colour is only .32 too. I'm pretty certain Henry from Henrys Tackle can get it in too and ships countrywide.
