Ballycastle Beach 07/06/08

#1 Post by dgp140 »

People: Me

Duration: 7.30pm-10.45pm

Tide:H/T 9.45pm

Weather: Warm/Calm

Bait: Rag/Mack

Rigs: 2 Hook Flappers

Results: 3 Turbot, 1 Doggie

Report: Only one other guy fishing the beach so I set up next to him for the company. On my first cast I had a Turbot of about 24cms which gave me a cracking bite, and then another about the same size a couple of casts later. The guy next to me caught a couple of Turbot too. After I caught one more small Turbot it went quiet for a while until a nice Doggie turned up. I then had a clinker of a bite and the fish took of like a train . It was putting up a really good fight but slipped the hook at about 15yds out. I was gutted, couldnt believe it!!
I have to say that the sunset last night was great. You can't beat sitting on the beach, a few fish and watching a sunset like that.
