Report:
An absoloute cracker of a match, nailbiting right to the wire in this LMS competition. We didn't even know who had won till we totted up the scores.

I trailed by 64 points after the 1st leg in Kilgorman so from the off i was determined, and what a start I had, 6 dogs in the first 5 casts and Marco hadn't got a bite  I may have even uttered the word easy to myself  . My my how wrong was I, Marco then produced a run of fish which quickly eroded my lead, my "Kilmuckridge special" wasn't working and Marco got back level at 13 fish each at one stage which put him back in front in the tie.

I switched baits to another combo that works well and had 5 dogs in 3 casts to wrestle back the advantage but Marco was still bringing fish in steadily. Half an hour to go i caught a whiting which was just in and this little fish was to proove vital.

In the final standings, after 8 hours fishing the difference was 14 points and I was absoloutley blessed to come out on top. A rockling in the first comp to give me 5 species and a whiting in the second gave me the bonus species points to win, two cracking comps fished really hard and was exiting down to the last.

Congrats on the victory again Alby.
Great fishing. Brilliant match. At least I gave you a good run for your money.

To bad I couldn't get in the fish for the first 40-60 min because that would have made all the difference. After changing over to the rigs with lumi beads every cast right until the last 45 min one or two fish. Hardly had time to bait up because the tip of the rod was banging away again. I lost 3 dogs in the last 45 min of the comp.

Alby all the best in the rest of the comp, hope you do well because it would be a small consolation if I can say I lost from the winner.

Don`t worry Marco Alby will be following you out of the comp very soon
UP THE DEISE!!!!!!!

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.
