Replacement Rod & reel

Looking to replace knackered rod & reel boat combo.

Need 20/30 class rod and reel to match must have levelwind and lever drag.

Don't want to break the bank but also dont want any cheap sh*t.

All suggestions welcome

define cheap?
fladen do a nice rod for around 120 and shakespear do the ugli stick for around 100, both crackers, as for reels, cant think of any real(excuse the pun) cheapies, a slosh or tld do a good all round job, both around the 120 mark, the tld is a little more.

reel with both levelwind and leverdrag? That rules out most, inc the slosh and tld. Try the ABU wotsitscalled, it's a 7000 sized reel with lw & ld....

forgot about the levelwind, the tld does have a lever drag system though

wouldn't bother using a level wind (that's if your using braid) i suggest the slosh 30 and a diawa 20/30 whisker mesh they are a little bit expensive but will last a long time

Team Daiwa TDBX 12-30, matched to a Shimano tr2000ld Charter special.. not cheap, but a rod and reel combo that you would be very very hard pressed to better, i.m.h.o.

Forgot to nominate the rod: ABU Suveran.

If you can do without the levelwind, get either a Shimano TLD 15 or an Avet MX.

Bearing in mind that you do not want to have to talk to the bank manager for a loan, I would be leaning towards the Okuma Magnatex 30cs. It's a good strong reel that has level wind for about €100. On the rod side of things, I would take a look at veals and see if someone will buy at the same time and go halfs for the postage.

I have shortlisted the Shimano Charter Special and the Penn 320 LD.
Will look at that Daiwa rod Dave thanks.
