Tue Mar 08, 2011 1:11 pm

People;myself, tex and willy the wheelbarrows first outing

Duration;13.00pm-18.30pm

Tide;hw at 16.40pm

Weather;absolutely gorgeous.good surf up

Bait;macks,lugs,razors,sandeels,whitebait,mussel

Rigs;2hook flappers and pulleys

Result; myself=1xturbot,1xsmall seatrout and plenty of beefy flounders up to 35cm
tex=plenty of beefy flounders up to the same size

Report;,,,,,,,,,,,,,this is a delayed report as i got banned from here for using text speak.i had been warned a few times but just got it so hard to get rid of when your used to doing it most of the time when texting your mates.anyway i have learned from my mistake and i am moving on.myself and terry had planned a day session for a long time but never got around to it and our times never suited.so the saturday before we agreed that the tuesday to come was suitable.we originally planned for 11.00am but terry got held back by getting the brake pads done on his van.we hooked up in the carpark and i had slightly remembered terry talking about this wheelbarrow.we hell there it was looking at me with all his gear in.a bright yellow object that he was very proud of.its one of those plastic ones that are very light and you could of seen it was used in the construction before as it had cement wash all on the inside.anyway i had my rod bag and box, terry had his wheelbarrow with his gear in it,so we headed to our mark.we both set up two rods each.one with a pulley out deep and a flapper in close.,the first hour was very quiet.i switched over to a rolling lead and cast to my left as i could see the lines were going right.left it to roll for about 20 minutes, then reeled it in to which i had a small turbot in the surf.gave us a bit of hope.from about 14.30(two hours before hw) we started getting on the flats.we both brought in some nice flounders.some were nice and beefy too for the time of year.very had to tell if we had anything on as the surf was twitching our rod tips the whole time.so it was a case of reel in every half an hour or less.we really were enjoying the day and chatting to people who passed.after high water things slackened.infact we did not see anything.we agreed to stay till dusk which was at half 6.was glad we did as i pulled in a small seatrout which i didnt know was on.headed for home then on a great buzz

really enjoyed the day and all fish were realesed
great to be back

ya they are mad lol.tex gave me a few of them.they are an alternative to a gripper type for fishing on sandy beaches.they use them alot of the east coast beaches in the usa.they hold quiet well but can be annoying on the shallow beaches because when you are reeling in they keeping digging into the sand.i think they dig in to the sand with the pressure or downward pressure.i just heard some one over say it.i got them free so i didnt say no    thanks tex :P
