Jim Clohessy attended a stakeholder forum in Dublin (23/03/23) under the banner of Sea Angling Ireland. This was a continuation of the process that began with video consultations in 2020 culminating with the publishing of the report on Marine Protected Areas.

Current EU legislation stipulates that it is illegal to keep more than two European Sea Bass caught in any 24-hour period.
The current legislation also made it illegal to keep any European Sea Bass during the period of 1 January to 28 February and 1 to 31 December 2023. There is currently a minimum size limit of 42 cm for each Bass retained.
Between 1 March and 30 November two European Sea Bass caught in any 24 hour period may be retained.
