when fishing for congers from shoe/rocks/piers would a rough ground rod and a slosh30 be enough or do you lot use heavier gear?

you can use a rock rod i prefer a boat rod just for brut force depends where your fishing for them slosh 30 will do the job for both type of rods

yep, sloshs are fine. i would always go for the longer rod though because it gives you more control.

i just use a boat rod myself..and a 525, tho im switchiong 2 my slosh 30 cause of its nice a smooth retrieve...very powerful reel

greys apollo with slosh30 30lb main line with about 30 yards of 60lb to 80lb for pullin the fish up and on the business end 150lb mono with a cox and rawle 6/0 meat hook baited with either fresh pouting or half a mac
