Heading down to Kerry next Friday for what I hope will be an annual trip. Will be staying around St.Finians bay area. Read years ago in Sea Angler that this was a good mark for bass. Anyone know the area who could point out a few tips, tides to fish etc ? PM me if you want to keep it out of the public domain.

Cheers, Alan

hi Alan Fished St Finans Bay twice about this time last year, both early morning over low water, had lots of flounders and a couple of tiny turbot but no bass, possibly because it was very calm. It does look like a classic low water spot though, similar to many I've fished in England for bass. The Derrynane area looks good for bass but I didn't get an opportunity to try it. Waterville beach is also said to be good. I believe there is a shore fishing guide operating from Waterville - his details are probably in a post on this forum somewhere.
