Ballycotton 19th to 20th April 2006
People:me
Duration: 2 to 3 hours
Tide: generally 1hour to top of tide, then over the top & down
Weather: 20th, glorius & warm, last night, back to normal - raining
Bait:sandeels
Rigs: 2 hook paternoster + a 1 up 1 down
Results: throughout the three days, 10 x dogs to 4lb, 2 x pouting, 6 x mackerel, & one 2lb codling. Others there were seen to be catching small pollack
Report: Fishing was very good. One the first night a resonable codling popped on the line & a couple of dogs. Wednesday, being warm, bought in the mackerel shoal who seem to be in very early!. Last night the rain kept most people off the pier, but the dogs were in en masse with a bite every 20 mins until the tide started receding. All in all very entertaining!
