7th trip of 2024
this fishing trip saw me tackle a swilly beach with my mate Louis in the hope for rays. The conditions couldn't have been more perfect as the tide was flooding as darkness fell, the weather was mild, warm in fact with a clear sky and a light breeze. The sea was also flat and just screamed fish, alas it wasn't to be as both of us blanked. We did get a few doggie rattles but with big baits on for rays they couldn't swallow the hooks. I did have a few good pull downs one of which I managed to have on for all of 5 seconds and when the rig came back it was in knots, so I am guessing it could have been an eel. Even though no fish where landed it was a great night to be out, good conversation and a few laughs, maybe the next time our luck will be in.

Re: 7th trip of 2024
I was off Donegal and my bigger baits didnt work for rays last week so I changed hooks and bait to smaller slivers of squid cos I only had 3 and was very surprised when I started hitting rays.I got 1 good size gurnard as well. I really thought the baits would catch flounder etc.
