3rd trip of 2024

#1 Post by MC »

well for my 3rd trip of 2024 I decided to fish for rays at a local low water mark. I know its a bit early for them but checking my diary i have caught them this early inn the past, with this in mind I planned to fish from 10pm to 2 am as the deep channel on this beach is only fishable 2 hours either side of low water as the tidal push rips your gripper leads out once its starts. Anyway I was a bit early arriving so I took my time in getting suited and booted up, wandered down the beach to my chosen swim. By 9.45pm i had baits in the water and waited in hope for a ray. The night was cloudy with an cold easterly breeze and the odd drizzle of rain but i was dry and warm in my set up. Now for the fishing, well naught happened not even crabs, baits coming back the same way they went out but just after low water the rod tip gave a little nod and guess what, thats right the crabs had woke up. I fished on but alas I got nothing so 3rd trip in and its my first blank of 2024 but it wont stop me as I will try again hopefully sooner rather than later.
