Gel Lithium battery for Garmin fishfinder?

#1 Post by spindlefist »

Hi, I've been using a garmin echo with 12v in hull battery for years now , but recently got a new Garmin Striker VIVID 4CV , I was wondering could I use this with a motorcycle 12v battery such as this one..

has anybody used gel lithium ones with their fishfinders vs the usual lead acid?

it's on my kayak so if I could get away using a battery box instead of installing inside hull that would be the aim.
Thanks

I've always used alarm-type 12v for my Rubber duck. I'll get 2 days out of it with an Echomap 50s

What's the average current drain (milliamps or mA) of your new sounder, and what's the Amp/Hours (AH) rating of the gel battery? The sounder drain rate will be in the specs.
