Stripped Baits

#1 Post by hush1 »

Was fishing the wicklow coast line over the last few nights and found that my baits were coming in stripped every time. This is over sandy ground and has never happened so consistantley before in these locations. Anybody notice anything similar or have thoughts on a reason?

Yeah noticed that as well, fished the beach beside Wicklow town on Monday ragworm baits were obliterated almost instantly, threw out a big mackerel bait and it was gone in a couple of minutes. Caught a couple of pin whitening but I reckon it was crabs alright.

Definitely crabs I'd say. They can get through bait faster than most fish.
