spider crab

#1 Post by Rigblaster »

Hi all

The last few trips I had I have landed a couple of big spider crabs I am just wondering instead of tossing them back could I open them up and use the meat inside as bait or is it not a good bait at all. The crabs were about the size of a closed fist.

Thanks for taking the time to read

never used them as bait but they are very nice to eat just break the legs off and boil them up for a few mins and enjoy

Yep. Delicioius apparently. Caught a large one years ago, was about to throw it back and a Dutch couple asked for it. Think I made their holiday... would not be throwing them back now mind!
