Hello all.
Staying close to Greystones. Family holiday. Planning on fishing Greystones this evening for a quick session. I would love to catch a smoothound. Is it possible at Greystones? Where would be best to set up shop? Took a spin out there earlier. Will prob park at the playground near the train station. Picked up some frozen mackerel in Wicklow today. All help would be appreciated, either here or by privAte message. Thank you.

Re: smoothhound in greystones?
There was a couple I heard of getting caught off the greystones pier a couple of weeks ago. Plenty off the head in the boats . You will need to get some peeler crab of you want to catch them. The back of the west pier in dunlaoghaire is turning up a few aswell.

Re: smoothhound in greystones?
Thanks John1. Much appreciated. Knowledge that I'll retain for next trip east. Unfortunately, it was only a brief session at greystones south beach that I could manage. Family enjoyed 45 mins on the beach in twilight until they had enough and we had to return to the hotel! I fished the mackeral in fairly decent sized strips hoping for a smooth hound or a ray perhaps. Managed to get one bite but failed to hook up. Possibly a smaller fish I'd imagine. Dropped off the remainder of my frozen mack to two lads a little further down. They had managed a small doggie but looked like they were setting up for a longer session. Thanks
