Malahide Bass

#1 Post by Fanad80 »

Tried Malahide on monday evening on the rocks in front of Gannon park for Bass (moving around to try different spots). I used a variety of different lures (tobies, plugs etc...) at different depths and different speeds. Conditions were good with a rising tide getting dark and a slight breeze but nothing showing. The guys beside me (on High Rock) were catching small pollock and doggies for fun - not sure what bait they were using. Two queries, (a) am i wasting my time trying to catch bass on lures in the area; and (b) if i try fishing for doggies, pollock etc, what baits work well in that area?
