north easterly winds

Hi lads why do north easterly winds affect the fishing so much or maybe its just in the south east any body got any theory's.

I havnt got any theorys but I fished Blackhead in Co. Clare yesterday and there was nothing doing.

The large pod of dolphins were happily feeding a little further out but the fish were not biting.
We tried everything without success.
