Pier fishing

Never fished off a pier so looking for advice on what rigs,bait, size of weights ect. and what kind of distance do you cast out it will prob be Wicklow or Arklow

Never fished wicklow/arklow but for pier fishing distance casting is not needed most of the time, simple 2-3 hook rig works, with worm/fish baits.
3-5 ounce weights. Crab baits are great too
2019 species: codling, whiting, flounder, dab, dogfish, spurdog, sole, smooth hound, bass
2020 species: codling, dab, whiting, flounder, dogfish, turbot, smooth hound, bass
2021 species: flounder, black goby, dogfish, smooth hound
2022 species: dogfish, smooth hound
2023 species: flounder
2024 species: dab, smooth hound, flounder, bass
