kilmore

#1 Post by jaygo »

Hi all

I shall be over in wexford in a couple of weeks staying in kilmore and was wandering what the fishing and weed situation has been like???

Were getting the odd smoothound and thornbacks over here in Liverpool and the very occasional bass so nothing to shout about.

Was looking at fishing furlongs road...ballaheally and maybe a trip up to hookhead in search of wrasse..

Also never had a coalfish is there any about???

If you would rather pm me than put your marks on the website all info would be gratefully. Received

Cheers all

Hello jaygo,

If you're going to Kilmore Quay it might be worth getting out on one of the boats for a day. There's a pretty good range of species to be had, plenty of wrasse, cod mostly in the 2-4lb range, ling, tope if you're looking for one and there are some decent pollack about. I've had coalfish down there up to about 2lb but I'd imagine there are some decent ones knocking about.

Regards,
Pajo
