Fishin' Kilmore Friday! help appreciated

#1 Post by Stevieg »

Hi,
I will be working in Kilmore (Wexford) this week but depending on how that goes I may get a full day or just a half day of fishing in on Friday(the 17th). The weather looks dry with a Northerly wind and the sea looks to be flat,Lw about 10am and high at 4pm, so at least it will be some pleasant fishing. As for catching... I hope to target Bass on lures somewhere between Wellingtonbridge and Duncormick before my return journey to Clare (C&R).
Any warnings, local knowledge or company would be greatly appreciated as I dont know the area at all, only what I've seen on GoogleMaps.
Thanks :D

Never fished kilmore but have fished tacumshane (rostoonstown) and it apparently very good for bass. I wouldnt be spinning though so not sure if there is anywhere decent around that area.

You also have rosslare harbour, and rosslare point within a few minutes, the point throwing up smoothies, tope, and bass.

Always plenty of people in kilmore though this time of year so your best bet would be to ask around.

You also have Bunty in the widgeons rest tackle shop on the point - go out past kellies hotel about 1.5 miles and he is on the right. 087 675 2547 is his number and it would be worth going out to him for some local info, he's reasonable and wont put you wrong.

Cheers for the tips and suggesting lads...
I fished St.Patricks Bridge for a few hours on the flood, not a sniff of a fish but just getting out for a few casts was enough.
Thanks again
