Still fishing

#1 Post by fishermom »

Well the young lad pretty much gave up,but I got totally hooked, last year during April-October was out up to three times per wk,in height of summer sometimes more, even became friends with another woman who fishes as much as i was.
(terrible addiction lol ) Lots of variety of fish caught, even bought myself a couple new rods, and one for LRF which i totally love,so much fun catching fish on those light rods and reels.
Not out as much over the winter, pretty awful weather, but the last two weeks seem to be a few more fish around, was out twice this wk,and caught a few codling and pollock,so at least it was'nt a blank.Looking forward to May time when hopefully there will be a few Wrasse around, awesome fish to catch.
Have heard so much about Red Bay,i am hoping to try there at some point during the next few months, but i am still happy just hanging out at the pier/rocks,loving the peace and quiet until summer, when every passer by asks "caught any mackerel",like they are the only fish in the sea...lol

I have'nt joined a club ardinn, something i may look into some more for next year
I did look online, but could only really find stuff to do with game and fly fishing up here,Though i'm sure if i asked at the local tackle shop, they could probably point me in the right direction. For now i am happy enough trying to catch as many different species of fish as i can, love to catch something new,and always try an photograph it.
