Wexford bass

#1 Post by Aglax888 »

I've been fishing around the Wexford area for bass on and off for the last 15 years, and after a 5 year break I've caught the bug again and would like to know if there's any bass around the area at the moment? I've been fishing around some marks over the last three days but it's been very quiet around, one nice flounder on the first day, but even they seem scarce at the moment. Any help would be great.

Welcome back ;0)

People are especially reticent about posting reports which feature bass. I am sure you will understand why.

The best you could probably do is link up with a local club or the club here (just fished Ballyhealy) and get to meet people in person. Once people are comfortable that you are not some mad poacher (it happens!) then they will begin to share information with you, most likely on how marks are fishing, and in due course on the bass...

You will find the private messaging service (the icon with the two heads) especially useful once you connect with people here...

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply, I managed to get myself a lovely silver bar today, was a little schooly but I was over the moon with it. I'm not local around here but visit a few times a year, I'm planning on a return trip in the summer so I might make a post then to get in contact with someone local or part of the club. Thanks again.
