Re: Sea trout
I tend to leave them alone till late April, May at the earliest. Catching spent or half-mended fish is no good at all.

Re: Sea trout
my best time this year was in may and June, slowed down after that. (on the dingle peninsula.)
I found imitation sand eels in yellow or blue most effective.

Hansen strippers, mepps, and small tazmanian devils, connemara krills, kilty catchers, and flashy silver lure will have its day

Re: Sea trout
You won't catch them if they are not there! Between mid February and early May, they will take anything really. I would consider a full moon in mid April as the optimal time to get them.
