Hi lads,
I was thinking of trying a bit of float fishing and lure fishing from the rocks at Sorrento in Dalkey. Any suggestions on tactics, bait, tips etc would be greatly appreciated.

Get the tide right as the channel has a strong current which might make it hard to float fish. It's a mackie bashing zone as well so bring a helmet. If you fished late evening calm rising tide you might dig out a small pollock or wrasse and a mac or two but I have float fished here before and never got a tap. You can catch a dog or two at distance but the ground is rough enough. Those that are interested might drag the occasional tired congar out of the weeds. The views are good but there are better fishing spots about.
