Hey lads.
Im meant to be heading to doolin next week and might squeeze in a spinning rod. Ill be staying in the campsite next to the pier. I tried google maps but its showing a big cloud over the area and i cant see the coast.
Are there any decent pollack/wrasse marks near by?
Cheers.

Fanore can throw up excellent bass fishing from lures in the mixed ground at the end of the beach... very hit and miss, but a lot of big fish landed there over the years... and its not that far away if you have a car.

You can get pollock on the rocks at the back of the campsite but can be hit and miss but be careful if there is a swell.

Thats what i was hoping for but didnt know if id be able to get down to the water or not.
Would this area be free from macky bashers? Id rather leave the gear at home than fight for space on a rock.

You might run in to the odd fella but there will be plenty of room.

Re: Doolin Co. Clare.
Fished the rocks near the campsite last evening over high water. 10/12 pollack for my efforts. Nothing huge but good craic on the jellies.
Went back tonight and the swell was huge, only had a few casts from high up and packed up fairly quick without even a sniff. Too dangerous to fish near the water and i wouldnt have been able to land fish from where it was safe.
