Best head torch / beach lighting

#1 Post by ardinn »

Anyone have any recommendations regarding good head torches that wont cost me a small fortune for beach fishing.

I would be open to other suggestions too regarding lamps etc. Just not sure what to get.

Thanks

Have a look at http://www.ledpowerhouse.com
Plenty of options and he doesnt sell junk.
Set a budget and maybe contact the owner. Nice guy who wont steer you wrong. Free delivery too and its an Irish company.

+1 for ledpowerhouse

There use to be a discount for the forum members. I don't know if it is still valid.

I got their cheapest headlamp and I'm very happy with it.

And I'm sure Roger will post about good deals from ebay, lidl, etc !

Thats expensive for the cree. Much cheaper on ebay but postage might take a while.
Just remember, like the other lads said! Some of them last. Some dont and dont be fooled by the power of it. It doesnt have 5000lumens. If it did it wouldnt last 10 minutes on a full charge. Its still more than bright enough for anything you will probably need it for.

Ah ok.

Well it looked good when I saw it - Glad I asked now - ledpowerhouse seems very expensive - what type of power would I want for a good bright but not sun like headlamp that will last a bit and still wont break my pocket.

You really do get what you pay for with things like headlights. Id rather a decent well made lamp with 100lumens over a cheaply made 4/500 lumen one any night.
Mine has 2 settings. 100/200 lumens. The 100 is more than enough for fishing. A lot of the led lights will have zoom and flood settings which is very handy.

I use a Coleman dual fuel NorthStar Lantern for the beach, any old headlamp does me tbh.

I got this in careys tool hire near the city hall in cork city it was reduced from 21.99 to 12.99 at the time, takes 4 x AA batteries, I have it since Nov 14 and its perfect.
I really should have got 2 or 3 of them.
