day light cod

#1 Post by beechtrawler »

Hi all,

i am thinking of going to either waterford or youghal estuary this saturday to try my hand at the cod, as i am restricted when i can travel this weekend it will be during day light hours that i will fish, so i am wondering would i be better off to wait for a night time session or might the day time session be productive?

Thanks in advance.

I'd keep away from estuaries for a couple of days if I were you all the freshwater from rain is no good maybe a beach a better option

you are right i did not factor in the rainfall, too long a journey with that amount of rain, in your opinion is there any point fishing those estuaries during day light hours when targetting cod?

Ah there is personally I'd prefer night but I've seen plenty fish caught during day time the likes of ferry point or the quays plenty deep water in them places so day or night should not make much difference all this windy weather is great for bringing them in its just a pity about the rain

Daylight is grand for cod as most time the water is murky as said stay away from the estuarys for a few dry days or fish the mouth of an estuary if you can
