I was speaking to a friend recently who strongly advises against using braid whilst shore fishing. His belief is that mono line will offer that little bit of give and provides a better (more life-like) presentation of bait to fish. He claims to have lost countless fish where a testing nibble scared off a potential catch as it was evident all was not as it appeared.
Just wondering what the consensus is?

Re: Mainline Braid v Mono
braid is fine on fixed spools for sea its a big no no for me on casting multis beds in too tight on itself and ends in disaster
