Herring in Dun Laoghaire

I caught a few Herring off the west pier in Dun Laoghaire today while trying to get a late Mackerel or two. I was surprised, didn't really think you could catch them in Ireland. I'd say about 10 were caught in the time I was there.

It's normal ,there used to be a huge fishery on the east coast back in the day before the fishery collapsed

i caught one in ballycotton on mackerel feathers this year .... i seen feathers on ebay called herring feathers

They still net them out of wicklow harbour.
