Hey fellas,
I was looking at a rod yesterday, I couldn't tell you the make but it was rated for 30g-50g and it had a reel loaded with 8lb mono, would this rod be ok for chucking plastics and lures for mackeral and pollock etc during the summer??.. Would it work for LRF?..
Cheers
Will this rod do the trick?

Bit heavy for plastics as most plastics are between 8g and 20g
Be grand though in fairness. Great bit of action off it with macs and pollack

I use 20-50g rod to chuck metals at macks and perfect for it. Though 8lb mono seems a bit light for rod weighted 30-50?
IMO LRF rod is ideally 0.5g to 7g to fish for tiny to small fish, and still get a decent take.
