Need guidance

#1 Post by mandzhalas »

hi
I am new to this forum and need little guidance
I am long time coarse angler, but very keen to learn how to do sea fishing.
Now to start i haven't got a clue about inshore angling, neither do i have a gear for it.Well, have couple of rods and reels, but dont know if they will be suitable.Times are tough, and I don't want to buy sea angling gear, just to find out if i will like sea angling.
Is there anyone from southeast who would like take me to fishing with them and show how its done?
Appreciate

A good pike rod and reel will get you started, it's a similar piece of kit compared to a Bass set up.
But for beach fishing you will need a heavier set up, standard 13 foot beach-caster and a reel in the 8000 range.
There's a wealth of information on this website, from rigs and baits to rods and weights.
The guys in Courtown angling are very helpful with regard to equipment, marks to fish and various baits just have a chat with Joe.
Ohh you will need a tripod (rod-stand) also.

As above. A pike or carp rod will get you started. As the water heats up you could try using a sea float for pollock or macks if you can get to a rock mark.
