mullet and bass

this may be a stupid question but im wondering as far as it goes with estuarys when the mullet stop coming up the river as in its too fresh or whatever how far back are the bass roughly ??

Reading the interview with Arthur Daly [Cortaz] that's on this site, he says he caught an 18.5lb bass in a net,miles up an estuary in almost fresh water.

I've caught school bass just below Enniscorthy in Wexford, they are tolerant of freshwater to a large extent.

say a half a mile behind where the mullet stop would be a possibility ??
