Codling in howth... 22/1/14

People:just me

Duration:too bloody long...7 hrs

Tide:high tide 3pm'ish low tide 9pm'ish

Weather:clear cold not much wind

Bait:frozen lug/fresh macs

Rigs:2 hook paternoster

Results:one codling.




Report:
fished from about 3pm,a few crabs and a few nibbles... then this guy about 8pm.finished up about 10pm. never got a codling in balscaddon bay before :lol:

Nice catch GA, not a bad size Codling from howth 8)
7 hours out there is some dedication though :o

Nice fish from there. Im suprised that you werent plagued with small whiting and dab. Fished there lots when I was younger caught a few cod but never much over 25cm mark.

Fine Codling indeed from Howth, have seen the odd decent Codling taken out there, usually fish that are living among the weed close to shore.
