killiney beach,dublin,18 jan

#1 Post by Grumpy Angler »

myself,16:00-21:00

low tide 18:00

misty rain, followed by a clear night.not much wind

lug/macs

2 hook flapper in close and large bait pulley rig at about 90 yards

crabs and a few strong bites but no fish.

The weather wasn't great but that didn't matter,i was wrapped up well and looking forward to fishing this venue again. i was here before xmas and had to stop because the sea was clogged with weed. no weed last night but no bites really either. lug tipped with rag at diffrent distances didn't make much diffrence. the crabs were having a feast.....maybe i'm the only person that fishes this beach and comes up blank.....there's always next time!

Too true, but sometimes you have to take your fishing time when you can get it...

It wasn't much better. I stayed on until 02:00. It was just pin whiting and rockling. I did catch a codling though: shame it was only finger size!!
