17-1-2014, dodds rocks

#1 Post by thelegend »

People:myself and 2 mates

Duration:7-11pm

Tide:full at 9-ish

Weather:showers then grand

Bait:lug crab, mack

Rigs:3hook flappers, 2hook clipped

Results:dabs ,flounder, whiting ,codling, rockling and doggies

Report:first session of the year for the 2 mates, decided on dodds rocks as can be a good mark and handy to travel too, got set up with 2 rods, 2 hooks clipped with big crab baits in the hope of some elusive cod, other rods in close were flappers size 4 hooks ,lug and mack, were into fish straightaway, some nice flats and whiting on the lug and mack , a few small codling , rockling as well, really busy session with fish hopping off the baits all nite, happy out :P only dogs were caught on the clipped rigs at distance but didnt mind as they were big doggies and gave quite a scrap 2 at a time, i had 31 fish , the 2 mates 20 and 16, great session and delighted with the results as i picked the mark , the recent storms have really done a job on the beach here, anyone camping wont be stuck for firewood, the sea had risen all the way to the entrance to the beach down the lil pathway  , now off to untangle many rigs, happy new year and tight lines to all for 2014
